Leyla Murr Biography

An emerging Croatian artist who works in a variety of styles, Leyla Murr feels equally comfortable painting flowers in the garden as she does playing with geometric shapes in abstract pieces. She explores color and mood, using both oil and acrylic on canvas.

She studied art both in Croatia as well as in the United Kingdom where she now lives.

When asked about her work she says: “My paintings are essentially a reflection of my mood, feelings and the environment I find myself in, and as such are a constant subject to change. The only constant it seems is the strong presence of colour which I love. I try to incorporate it in a variety of forms, compositions and materials which keeps my work alive and fresh, and my interest and excitement constant and intense.”

She has had several shows in and around Yorkshire, U.K.
