Artist's Statement

"When I started painting I started observing and appreciating more what is around me, even the simplest things that are taken for granted in everyday life. Painting is a way of human expression and indeed it was one of the initial ways of human communication before languages developed. My inspirations come from the beautiful and dramatic colours created when light at sunrise or sunset hits mountains, trees, oceans or clouds. Through the colours of the skies, clouds and water I express my mood. I am inspired by the sounds of the singing birds at sunrise and the sounds of the waves and winds on the ocean. Travelling and being outdoors help me to get my inspirations, which later I lay down on my canvas using bold brush strokes and vibrant colours. My love for landscape painting is related to my love for nature and life. From childhood I loved both science and painting and I was always amazed and interested at how things work on this planet. I was always amazed by the fact that life is only possible thanks to the violent natural phenomena that create the right conditions to sustain it. This fact is interpreted by the vibrant colours I use together with cloudy and stormy skies frequently seen in my paintings. My aim is to create high quality art so that with the presence of my artwork in people's homes I will share with them my experiences of the places they may never been able to visit and see for themselves"
