Chris O'Hoski Biography

Chris O'Hoski is a Contemporary Artist, who studied at Sheridan College, The Dundas Valley School of Art, McMaster University and the University of Toronto.

Chris had the privilege of being mentored by Canadian Hyper-realist Joseph Devellano.

As an exhibiting artist, Chris has shown work in New York City, London, Montréal, Los Angeles and Toronto, while his works can be found in various collections in Canada, the United States and Australia.

Though Chris doesn't believe in categorizing his work, he categorizes it as both experimental and emotional. Chris relies on his states of “hypnagogia” (the time and space between sleep and awake) to develop imagery.

Artist's Statement

O'Hoski's 2009 -2011 works have been a direct reflection of Hypnagogia and “pulling light from darkness” as he describes it. In his own words, Chris has frequently said “I'm not a master, and still have much to learn by any means. I continue to be inspired by everything I see and the look in every artists' eyes. I only hope to grow as an artist, try as many things as possible, and continue to have a mind open enough to continue to adapt and change”
