Neo-Liberty: ¨Italian Art Nouveau¨

Critics of this movement coined the term ¨Neo-Liberty¨ in late 1950s referring to the revival of  Italian Art Nouveau or Stile Liberty.Architects turned away from ¨machine age¨ Modernist design to embrace a more hand-crafted aesthetic.

Examples of Neo-Liberty include Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglione's Sanluka chair (1960) and Gavina and Giotto Stoppino, Vittorio Gregotti, and Lodovico Meneghetti's curvilinear bentwood Cavour chair (1960.)
