Paul was born and raised in Dublin. He works out of his studio, an old pig barn on Frascati Park in Dublin. It gives him the space and opportunity he craves to develop a continuous flow of new abstract landscapes . Paul has been painting for over 20 years. Over this time he has built up a very loyal following. It is only in the last 5 or 6 years though he has publicly exhibited his work.
Paul is also proactive with charities such as Frontline Human Rights Defenders, Sea Change Micro Financing, John Hartnett Stroke Fund and Blackrock Hospice. Paul has been working for the last 12 months on two specific creative projects in tandem. Both very different. The first project is a study of light above and below horizons, with specific emphasis on the coast of South Dublin towards to sea. This project has attempted to capture moments in time of light at certain times of day and night. The DDDA (Dublin Development Docklands Authority) invited Paul to hold an exhibition of his work to date on this project in the CHQ building, in the IFSC (Financial Services District) in January 2009. This exhibition called ‘Do You Ever Get There’, was a great success both critically and commercially.
