The label verso states : Plusieus manifestations se sont deroulees a Vallauris et dans le differentes villes de la cote D’Azur a l’occasion du 8e anniversaire de Pablo Picasso. A la tribune D’Honneur aux arenes de Vallauris, de Gauche a droit: Jacqueline Duclos, Mme Picasso, Pablo Picasso et Lucia Bose, femme du Torrero Miguel Dominguin”. Picasso was a major “Superstar” in his adopted town of Vallauris where his making of pottery at Madoura had brought mucvh prosperity to the area. He was well liked by the local population and had many friends such as the Torreador Miguel Dominguin. Dominguín married in 1955 with Lucia Bosé in Las Vegas, after a courtship of three months. Dominguin had a fsmous story about Picasso: when they went to lunch Picasso always paid with a check because he knew the owner bank the artists cheque but would keep them and frame them!
