Martina Plath Biography

Established Mexican artist Martina Plath photographs nature from a personal perspective, often rendering abstract the shapes she captures.

Martina studied photography at the Escuela Activa de Fotografia and at the Centro de la Imagen, Graphic Design at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plasticas UNAM, and Museum Studies.

In 2005 she came in first place at the Unique Book Contest in Fotoencuentros, Murcia, Spain with her book "Basicamente". In 2006 she participated in the exhibition Agua at the Claustro de Sor Juana in Mexico City; at the Galeria Nina Menocal in Maco 06 Contemporary Art Fair, and at the Mexican Consulate in Barcelona.

In January 2007 she will have a solo show at the Festival Fotoencuentros in Murcia, Spain, and her book "Basicamente" will be published.
