The loose brushwork and distorted perspectives in Columbian painter Marica Cecilia Kassem's townscapes and folkloric scenes reveal her interest in the work of the expressionists, an influence which she develops to the point of abstraction in her compositions based on pre-Colombian motifs, where colour is put into play against form and space.
