An established indigenous artist from Australia, Lindsay Bird Mpetyane works in an abstract and geometric style that incorporates aboriginal themes. Her impressive large-scale pieces contain daring combinations of color and harmonious design.
Bird Mpetyane is one of the most well known aborigine artists in the world, and her work has been shown in Europe, Australia, and the United States. Before beginning to paint with acrylic on canvas in 1987, she worked as a shepherd and farmer.
