Detailed Description

“PERFECTION” The Torso By Keith Allen Johnson Cold Cast Bronze 19.5”x12.5”x7” / 31 Pounds (Solid) “Perfection” is inspired by the famous Gaddi Torso displayed in the Classical Sculpture Room of the Uffizi, Florence Italy. The Gaddi Torso is a Hellenistic sculpture of the 2nd century BCE. Its dynamic tension and unusually refined modeling place it among sculptures of the Pergamene School. Works of the Pergamene School are characterized by an exaggeration of the general tendency of Hellenistic sculpture towards emotional display and virtuoso naturalistic detail. In the creation of “Perfection” the Master Sculptor set out to depict the immense strength of man in the face of life’s normal challenges. The movement and the tension depicted here are both graceful and powerful. The anatomy of the male torso in this dramatic sculpture is captured to create a compelling and heroic art treasure!
