Julián Grau Santos Biography

Julian Grau Santos was born in Huesca, Spain, in 1937. He is the son of the painters, Emilio Grau Sala and Angeles Santos.

In 1949 he travelled to Paris. It was there that he came into direct contact with the work of Sisley, Van Gogh and the Impressionist movement.

There have been many publications of his work. He has also worked as illustrator for the Spanish national newspaper ABC and the weekly publication Blanco & Negro.

In the 1970s he was commissioned to make copies of a series of works from the Prado Museum, Madrid; conferences have been held on the work of Grau Santos and he has also participated in the edition of ARCO (Madrid).
