It is an “avant les lettres” lithograph. (That is to say it is a version made prior to the poster which had an inscription written across it). The Japanese show consisted of works from two suites : “Les essencies de la Terra and “Ma de Proverbis” The poster version was printed with letters in Japanese as illustrated in the Catalogue Raisonee. there was also another version printed with letters in Catalan and another version in English for an exhibition of lithographs at the Galerie Hachette, London, in 1971.
