Hilaire-Germain-Edgar Degas Artwork Details

Detailed Description

Gorgeous 'tipped-in' plate after "The Mante Family" by Degas circa 1886, and from a 1958 folio of his greatest work. Number 15 of 16 in the folio, the print is signed by Degas 'in the plate', and this is just visible to the lower right hand corner, with dimensions of the item benefiting: Support 290 mms x 175 mms, Plate 256 mms x 142 mms. Title with year of the original work are shown beneath the plate (when lifted), and further corroborative details are catalogued in lead verso the passepartout support. Though the support shows a little w & t, the plate is in exemplary condition for its period, hence this piece is without question a very goods example of the medium. Dispatched unframed, the item is immediately ‘ready for framing’, and it will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity detailing the known origins and characteristics of the individual article.
