Gastón Izaguirre Biography

An emerging Uruguayan artist, Gaston Izaguirre paints using mixed media.
"His work is powerful and vital, subtle but explicit at the same time," says Emma Sanguinetti. "Dislocated beings take a winding way on the plane, fantastic beings whose unreal heads outline looks, feelings and attitudes; for above all these heads, bodies and figures, there is in Izaguirre's work, an inescapable presence; the eye."
He says of his work: "And I paint, paint and paint. The result is the expression of the present time, the moment I am living now, that ambiguity of form and color that govern my life."
