g. Bastista is among the two painters choosen for the International Honduran Festival "CalleArte". The solo exhibiton is scheduled for August 27 -29 of 2009 in the National Museum del Hombre.
Artist's Statement
g. Batista resides in the historic city of Tegucigalpa in the inspiring Barrio La Leona. Batista also owns an art gallery whose name is g. Batista Art Gallery. Batista gets inspired primarily on the continuing struggle of human beings especially those in Honduras, which is comprised primarily of a population that lives submerged in poverty and lives a day to day struggle that leads to great suffering both mental and physically which is reflected in paintings and sculptures. It should be noted that Batista is an active member of this poplation; however this artist is always in a continuing search for balance in the mental, social and economic realms.
