Alfred Stieglitz
Hoboken, 1864 – New York, 1946

American photographer, editor and gallerist, widely considered as one of the leading proponents of art photography.

Trained in New York and Berlin University , was not only a revered photographer but he played a key role in the development of photography in the first half of the century. He was associated with magazines such as: American Amateur Photographer and Camera Notes and later as the editor of Camera Work.

Stieglitz was married to the renowned American painter, Georgia O'Keeffe.
