Walker Evans
St. Louis, 1903 – New Haven, 1975

American photographer, most well known for his works on the American life.

Regarded as a perfectionist, Evans typically worked with an 8 x 10 inch view camera. His most popular themes included the city of New York and everyday country life in America. His work was published by some of the most popular American magazines, including Fortune magazine, where he worked as a photographer for 20 years. Despite never having completed university, he taught at the Yale University.
