Doisneau, Robert

French photographer, best known for his prolific work on Parisian streetlife.

Influenced by the works of Kertesz, Atget, and Cartier-Bresson, Dosineau worked for leading magazines, such as LIFE and VOGUE, during his prolific career.

As a photographer, he came into limelight with his work in FASHION photography for VOGUE PARIS, from 1948 to 1951.

He is also remembered for his portraits of French artists including Braque, Giacometti, Cocteau, Leger, and Picasso.

Doisneau has been the subject of major retrospectives EXHIBITIONS at the Bibliotecque Nationale in Paris, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the George Eastman House in Rochester, New York.
