Founded in 1917, the Allen Memorial Art Museum (AMAM) is considered amongst the finest collections at an academic institution, in America.
The collection contains over 11,000 works that span the entire history of art, with many strengths, including:
- 17th-century Dutch and Flemish painting
- European art of the late 19th and early 20th centuries
- Contemporary American art
- Old Master prints, and
- Japanese prints.
