SPECIALTY: The gallery is specialised in 19th and 20th century European art. Paintings - Works on paper - Sculpture.

The Patrick Derom Gallery opened at the Petit Sablon in Brussels in 1986. Since then it has grown into a gallery of international renown, offering Belgian as well as European art, with a special emphasis on Symbolist and Surrealist art. The Gallery has hosted exhibitions (including The Belgian Avant-garde of the Twenties, James Ensor, George Minne, Victor Servranckx and Félicien Rops) and participated in international art fairs, including the Salon du Dessin in Paris, The International Fine Art Fair in New York, the Foire des Antiquaires in the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, the Art Fair in Basel, the Biennale des Antiquaires in Paris (Carrousel du Louvre) and Le Salon des Beaux-Arts, also in Paris (Espace Eiffel Branly).

The Gallery presents Belgian artists such as Khnopff, Mellery, Degouve de Nuncques, Minne, Meunier, Spilliaert, Rops, Ensor, Permeke, Frits Van den Berghe, Delvaux and Magritte along with their international contemporaries including Moreau, Redon, Hammershøi, Picasso, Leger, Ernst, Mirò and others. Many exhibitions are accompanied by a catalogue.

In October 1998, after years of informal collaboration with Shepherd Gallery Associates, New York, Shepherd & Derom Galleries was opened in New York at 58 East 79th Street. This gallery is located on the upper east side, between Madison and Park Avenue, in the vicinity of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum.
