Ana González Prieto Biography
Ana was born in Cadiz, Andalusia, in 1952. At the age of 10, she moved with her family to Barcelona, where she lived for many years. The artist now lives and works in Tenerife, Canary Islands.
Ana completed her education at the Massana School of Art in Barcelona. While having painted for most of her life, Ana now dedicates herself fulltime to art.
In the words of the Artist:
The theme of my work centres around memories from childhood and religious scenes, all viewed with a slightly ironic point of view.
I think my work has several influences: from the ancient masters to Pop art.
My art gives a lot of importance to the figure. In my work, I often speak about the past and to do that I use dark colors; although, I also use white to create interest.
