Papunya, Australia,1944
William Sandy is an established aboriginal artist.
He has lived with his family in Papunya since 1973, and it was there that he began to paint in 1975. In the early eighties he started painting for the Papunya Tula Artist. Some of his subjects include the dingo, the emu, women and the pea. William Sandy is educated as a traditional medicine man. He is married to Violet Nakamarra, Michael Nelso Jakamarra?s sister.
