William Featherston Biography

William Featherston (1927 - 2009) was an artist for over sixty years. Originally from Toronto, he lived, worked and exhibited in Europe for fifteen years. After a short stint in the United States, he returned to Canada. Bill had major shows in London, Edinburgh, Toronto, Washington, D.C. and Vancouver. Although he taught at many major art schools and universities, he never let that interfere with his work.

Bill exhibited his most recent work at the Art Gallery of South Okanagan in Penticton and Cascadia Fine Art in Vancouver in 2008 and 2009. His recent work addressed the politics and trauma of the “New World Order”. As a war veteran and peace advocate, Featherston expressed his disdain for corporate agendas embedded within military aggression.
