Susan Mackin Dolan Artwork Details

Detailed Description

The images in these prints are hand drawn on acetate, or digitally manipulated and then printed on acetate. Susan cuts them up and collages them on a photo polymer plate that she prints like a traditional etching. The final step in the process is hand coloring with watercolor pigments. In the artist's own words: "The subject matter is symbolic in nature and refers to different levels of human experience, especially those on the subconscious level. They sometimes suggest the presence of forces beyond the individual and explore the relationship between natural phenomenon and one's ability (or inability) to conform them to our own wants and desires."
