María Caro Biography
Linares, Spain, 1968
An up-and-coming artist from the south of Spain, Maria Caro plays with superimposition, repetition, transparency, and light.
?Light is a constant in my work,? she says, ?and I think that with color you can better detect tonality.?
On asking about her work with photography, Maria says the following: ?I arrived at photography almost by necessity. I had two children in quick succession and couldn?t continue working as I had been, on a large scale and in my studio. I wanted to keep working and one day I picked up the camera and went to Almeria to see the greenhouses. I was struck by the light and images offered by these large plastic buildings.?
Maria Caro studied fine art in Granada, Spain and has participated in numerous exhibitions, both nationally and internationally.
