Detailed Description

The Wind paintings were made by the wind with interventions by me. Collected wind transferred through a device to draw a mark. I mused on whether the image was captured from the wind or merely the trace of its location. The capture device was a crude sail with an attachment to which the marker pens were fixed. I worked on the paintings in the studio in-between the wind making leaving its markings. Recalling time I spent in Nepal where I saw prayer flags flutter in the wind to offer up prayers. I thought of this process as being like prayer flags in reverse; replies given back. Purely a whimsical notion, as I lean far more to a scientific answer!
