Le Corbusier Biography

A French-Swiss master, Le Corbusier is famous for his contributions to modernism in architecture and design. He worked as an urban planner, painter, sculptor, writer, and furniture designer, and was the architect of many important buildings including the Villa Schwob in Paris, the Villa Savoye in Poissy-sur-Seine, France, and all of the new capital buildings in Chandigarh, India.

He was perhaps most influential in the sphere of urban planning, and was a founding member of the Congres International d'Architecture Moderne (CIAM).
