Josep Canals Gual Biography

An established Spanish artist, Josep Canals Gual works in an abstract style. His paintings are made up of many quick brush strokes layered on top of each other, in an exploration of color and movement.
He was trained as a sculptor and drawer at the Escuela Massana and the Facultad de Bellas Artes in Barcelona, Spain. Canals Gual has worked throughout his career to promote the arts, and since the 80s has dedicated himself to his work as a gallery owner. Since 1977 he has directed the Biennal d?Art Contemporani Catala, in Spain.
