Henry Moore Artwork Details

Detailed Description

This is a splendid portrait of the artist who is working on a maquette for a sculpture. All around him are maquettes and sculpture and on a shelf on a wall to his right is the celebrated Elephant Skull given to him by his Hampstead friends Sir Julian and Lady Juliette Huxley in 1966. Moore was fascinated by the skull and developed a number of graphic works exploring the internal and external spaces he found in this monumental object. These works were published as an album of etchings in 1970 by Gérald Cramer Condition: Very Good
