Bob Guccione Biography

Brooklyn, New York, 1930 -

Established artist Bob Guccione's paintings and prints explore and re- appropriate the visual language of modernism; elements of cubism, expressionism and the surreal, dreamlike style of Chagal are visible in his work.

Guccione began his artistic career in Europe. He founded the notorious Penthouse magazine in London and what began simply as a means of financially supporting his life as painter steadily became a giant in the world of publishing and film-making.

The Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio and Nassau County Museum have held exhibitions of Guccione's work.
