Rodolfo Nieto Biography

Oaxaca, Mexico, 1936 -1985

An established Mexican artist, Rodolfo Nieto studied at the Academia de San Carlos, now known as the Escuela Nacional de Artes Visuales. His lithographs have a lyrical fantasy that oscillates between delicacy and violence.

Nieto spent a significant part of his career living in Paris and travelling around Europe. He worked with Nourlot, William Hayter, and Michel Casse, among others, and won the prestigious biennial Paris prize in both 1963 and 1968.
