Pham Hoang Anh Biography

Hai Phong, Vietnam, 1967

An established Vietnamese artist, Pham Hoang Anh paints traditional Vietnamese figures in a variety of media: oils, acrylics, and watercolors on silk. His paintings manage to be simultaneously tranquil and vibrant, while he creates volume with simple lines. His work embodies the importance of theatre, music, and dance in Vietnamese life.

Pham graduated from the Fine Arts University of Hue in 1968. He is currently professor of Fine Arts at Hue University.
