Composición II by Eusebio Sempere

Eusebio Sempere Biography

Onil, Alicante (Spain), 1923 - 1985

Master Spanish artist Eusebio Sempere established himself as one of Spain's foremost artists with his abstract, geometric works.

Born in a small town in the province of Alicante, Sempere moved to Valencia at the age of 17 to attend the school of fine arts. Feeling limited by the school's ban on modern art, he traveled to Paris where he became immersed in the new geometric, kinetic movement.

In 1960, he returned to Spain and settled in Madrid. His sensibility and lyricism defined a stylistic evolution and established him as one of the most captivating artist of the Spanish art scene.
