The Slade School of Art

Founded in 1871 as a part of the University College London, Slade School is named after Felix SLADE, a renowned art collector.

While the school’s golden age is recognized to be during the early part of the 20th century, Slade has produced some of the most recognized name in British and European 20th century art, like: David BOMBERG, Mark GETLER, Wyndham LEWIS, Paul NASH, Stanley SPENCER and Edward WADSWORTH.
