Excellent book, 2009-10-02
by Lisa Crawford (Wilmington, NC)
Nice illustrations, easy to follow instructions. I mainly use acrylics and am able to use the same techniques as in this book with a few variations to get the same effect. Would recommend this book, especially to those just beginning to paint.
Fantastic book!, 2009-09-16

I absolutely love this book. The images perfectly compliment the techniques described to the reader, making the book easier to digest for this beginning watercolor student. The book is both well-written and contained everything I wanted to know about painting landscapes.
Great book, BOTH of them are, 2009-09-06

I have a huge collection of watercolor books, both early how too and more advanced. I think i am getting pretty good. This is my main source of learning. This book is probably one of the 10 best out of the 70 ( yea i found around that many, but kept only around 40 books, the ones i didn't like i donated to the library)
Easy instructions and really goes over all aspects. i just wish it went on a few more hundred pages. You can never get enough good instruction
I love this book, 2009-08-03

This is a beautiful book. And it's strictly about watercolor. It gives simple clear instructions on how to start to paint. It tells you everything you need and gives simple techniques to start and practice with. I just love looking at the pictures. I'm not a painter at this point but I want to be and this book is actually encouraging and makes me think I could be a painter.
Best complete "how to" that I have found, 2009-06-14
by Adrienne CT (Brisbane, Australia)
Truly an essential notebook. This is NOT a colour-by-numbers step-by-step book, but a concise list of techniques with how and when to use them. The author, Gordon MacKenzie, writes with humour and humanity. It is like being guided by a good friend. Go ahead, have some fun.
