Ukrainian-born photographer Roman Elinson works approach ABSTRACTION, often capturing details within larger realistic images.
Born in Kiev, Elinson moved to Canada with his family at the age of four. He studied human biology and received an MD from the University of Toronto. Instead of committing himself to a career in medicine, Roman changed course with an aim to develop his talents as photographer and musician. He moved to New York City where he has lived ever since. Roman has an affinity for travel and has been through North and South America, parts of Europe, Asia and the Middle East; though his favorite photographs have come mostly from his adopted home of New York.
He has said of his work, ?Photography is the art of mining the infinite field of visual reality to construct a convergence of meanings. I am satisfied if an image of mine provokes thought in the mind of the viewer, I am even more satisfied if it provokes something in the heart?.
