Peter Phillips Biography

Peter Phillips was born in Birmingham, UK, in 1939.

Peter Phillips studied along side David Hockney, Allen Jones and Boshier at the Royal College of Art, London, graduating in 1962.

During the 1960s, Phillips work was influenced by his US contempories, particularly the Pop Art movement. In 1964 he was awarded a Harkness Fellowship and moved to New York for a couple of years. While in New York he began working on a larger scale. He also started using the airbrush, working alot in the Pop genre.

Later he moved to Zurich, Switzerland, where he lived until moving to Mallorca in 1988.
