Painting Children, 2009-10-03
by Irene J. Schultz
THis is a excellant book. I got the book first and then took a pastel class. It is so detailed telling you how to paint the lips, eyes, ears etc. For years I have done watercolor and this book has helped with it, but now that I took a pastel class it is so much fun the book will also help me along with that. I highly recommend it.

Captivating Art, Thorough Explanations, 2009-07-08

This is an amazing book. The examples and the finished works are beautiful. Ms. Lee explains clearly the techniques she uses to accomplish the work she shows and she is generous in sharing her vast knowledge of both the materials and the techniques.

I have shared my copy of this book with several people. An interior designer who is a fellow of ASID, and another friend who is an artist, were so impressed that they purchased the book for themselves. The architect I work for commented that a person "could learn to paint from this book." I agree.

This book is packed with useful information on everything you need to get started in painting with pastels. The author really put a lot of thought into this book. She writes about painting surfaces and different brands of pastels and what to expect from each. She gives good advice about different poses and picking out the right photos to use. Bev Lee makes you feel like you are at a workshop. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in learning how to use pastels.I love the format of this book.
