Kijode Biography

Lustenau, Austria

Born and raised in Austria in the 1970s, all three designers, architect Kai Riedesser, industrial designer Johannes Bayer und graphic designer Denise Ender are dedicated to excellent, fresh design, which resulted in founding the design studio Kijode in 2003. Educated in Italy, Switzerland and the United States, these wildly creative individuals have participated in a number of exhibitions throughout Europe.

All of Kijode's design focuses on the complex transition of furniture use to completely abstract forms. In addition, the individual pieces often convey complex notions, such as pain, sadness or destruction. Ill Bill, for example, evokes the destruction of perfection with the sleek form and perforated sides, whereas Fatih, the most contemporary chaiselongue conceivable, is a definite masterpiece, with its clear, sculptural lines and beautiful finish.
