Kartik Desai Biography

Desai received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the College of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Michigan in 1999 and a Master of Architecture from the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation at Columbia University in 2006. Desai has worked professionally in San Francisco, Berkely and New York.

In speaking about “HONM020”, Desai states “This drawing maps various perceptual vectors around a site where the construct is to be situated. These vectors, here frozen at one moment in time, react with the spatial matrix to force the fluid movements of the resultant construct, which behaves in response like a living, breathing creature.”
