Johnathan Lynch Biography

Jonathan Lynch’s practice questions the ontological perception of the photographic image, and attempts to use the representation of staged or existing locations to comment upon the comparison between historical and photographic truths.

Lynch’s recent series An Essay of Emptiness is an enquiry into the empty interiors of historical houses and heritage buildings, creating a visual comment upon the ways by which we psychologically construct the spaces around us.

Jonathan Lynch graduated from Northumbria University in 2009 with a first class honours degree, and continues to live and work in Newcastle. Since graduating he has shown in group exhibitions in Newcastle, London and Kagawa and Sakaide, Japan.
