An established Bolivian painter, Jorge Barriga Arias paints in a figurative and realist style. One of his most common themes is the female figure, which he paints with an incredible sensitivity and subtle blending of color to create paintings that are recognizably his own.

Throughout his career Jorge Barriga has learned to focus on the essential, allowing him to masterfully play with gradations of color, light and form to create works that transmit a kind of lyricism, softness, and warmth.

He finished his studies in Madrid, Spain and has received numerous awards and honors for his work.
