Der Sturm Gallery, Berlin

This renowned German gallery was founded by in 1912 by Herwarth WALDEN, along with the magazine of the same name.

The purpose of the Gallery was to promote avant-garde art in Germany. Amongst its hundred exhibitions, the Gallery promoted EXPRESSIONISM of the BLAU REITER group.

The Gallery closed in 1932, after Walden left Germany for Soviet Union, because of the rise in Nazism and economic depression.
