Ernest Altés Biography

Spain, 1956

An established Spanish artist, Ernest Altes works primarily as a sculptor. His pieces on paper often show a two dimensional translation of the characteristics of his three dimensional art. He uses stone and other hard materials removed by force from nature, and he often experiments with the appearance of open and closed forms in a dialog about space. This work translates to paper with a dark and earth-hued palette, and clear delineation of the subject using black lines.

His sculptures are found in public spaces of many Spanish cities.
