Carlos Canales Biography
He was born in Madrid in 1961. He was formed in Hiperrealismo Onírico, achieving excellence in this style. In his paintings he peeks through personal items or lingerie, an atmosphere of mystery, sensuality and exquisite eroticism, that make us imagine life in the rooms for which just passed its inhabitants. His pictorial evolution is almost surprising for its expressiveness, but parallel to his life experience. Canales experiences the night of the cities he visites and characters he paints, he walks through streets looking into the shadows. Many of his paintings are portraits of himself, but anyway he paints his emotions. His process has been a difficult transition of deconstruction of Hiperrealismo to build a disturbing and torn Expressionism through a mixed technique in oil and acrylic. His paintings have not only gained in quality, but in expressiveness. At this stage, he shows his inner being revealed to devour his physical self. His message transcends beauty, we feel excited, he stirred and hits us with an entirely personal and masterful technique.
