Alex Mackenzie Biography

Established painter Alex Mackenzie works in an Expressionist style, focussing on layers of colour and dynamic line.

Trained in Visual Arts at Lancaster University and Goldsmith's Collage, Mackenzie has worked both as an artist and an instructor in Europe, Asia and Latin America for over 20 years. She has exhibited throughout Spain and Latin America, as well as in Malaysia, Hong Kong and London.

Mackenzie's recent work is centered around the landscape of Italy. Previously the theme of dance in Spain and Latin America was her interest. She also works with the issues of personal histories, courtship, gender, space, and traditional and modern values. Her sketched figures and simplified lines mark each of her works.
